Duct Electric Heater

Model Name

FD-G Metal Fin Tube Electric Heater

Main Purpose

It is an electric heating component used for heating air.

Application Sites

Non-explosion-proof sites with poor air conditions.

Product Introduction

Duct Electric Heater

  • As a low-temperature duct electric heater, the temperature of air after heating does not exceed 160°C;
  • Used as a heating component for duct systems, fresh air handling units, and electric heating equipment to heat air;
  • The shell adopts a single-plate structure without thermal insulation treatment and requires an externally matched control cabinet for use;
  • Essential functions of the control cabinet: air-heat interlock, electric heater over-temperature protection, and grounding protection;
  • The shell is made of carbon steel plate with electrostatic spraying. For corrosion resistance requirements or high-temperature environments, stainless steel can be used;
  • The duct electric heater needs to be independently suspended and fixed, with front and rear flanges connected to the duct;
  • The 0.8m duct sections before and after connection to the electric heater shall be made of insulating and non-combustible thermal insulation materials;
  • During the installation of the duct electric heater, the used components shall be insulated to prevent accidental electric leakage;
  • If the duct electric heater is installed in the suspended ceiling, an effective maintenance opening must be reserved in the suspended ceiling;
  • It is divided into two series: PTC thermosensitive ceramic series and metal fin tube series. Neither series can be used for dry heating (operation without air flow).

Metal Fin Tube Series

  • Composed of stainless steel fin tubes, modified magnesium oxide powder, electric heating alloy wires, and a shell;
  • The surface of the electric heater is non-charged, making it suitable for use in non-explosion-proof sites with poor air conditions;
  • The fin tube heater has large thermal inertia and slow cooling, requiring an extended fan delay shutdown time;
  • For the same electric heating power, the cross-sectional size of the fin tube heater is larger than that of the PTC heater;
  • The fin tubes are available in two stainless steel materials: 201 and 304. The latter (304) is selected for gas-corrosive environments;
  • Available in two types: flange-type straight tubes and flange-type U-tubes. The former (straight tubes) is selected for environments with high air velocity and air pressure.
